My Experience Getting an Affordable Sedan Car in Malaysia with Public Bank Car Loan (And Why I Chose Perodua)
A few months ago, I decided it was finally time to get my own car. I had been relying on public transport for years, but with work commitments and occasional road trips with friends, I really needed the freedom that comes with having your own ride. Like many Malaysians, my first thought was to find an affordable sedan car in Malaysia that wouldn’t break the bank – and more importantly, one that I could get financing for without too much hassle.
After doing some research and talking to a few friends, one name kept popping up – Perodua. Specifically, the Bezza and Myvi (even though it’s technically a hatchback, it’s often compared with sedans due to its comfort and practicality). Perodua is a trusted brand here, and their cars are known for reliability, fuel efficiency, and best of all, affordability. I decided to go for the Perodua Bezza – stylish enough for work, spacious enough for weekend getaways, and extremely economical.
Now came the part that I was a little nervous about: financing. This was my first time applying for a car loan, and I didn’t know where to start. I wanted a loan that offered a good interest rate, a flexible payment plan, and a smooth approval process. A friend recommended Public Bank car loan services, saying they were reliable and had a good reputation.
So I gave it a try – and I’m so glad I did.
Applying for the Public Bank car loan was surprisingly straightforward. I did most of the process online through their website, and it was very user-friendly. I submitted my documents (payslips, IC, employment letter, etc.), and within a few days, I got a call from their officer to confirm the details. The staff were polite, professional, and genuinely helpful – they answered all my questions clearly, and there was no hidden jargon or confusion.
The best part? The interest rate was very competitive compared to other banks I had checked, and they offered me up to 90% financing with a repayment period that suited my budget. I opted for a 7-year plan, and my monthly payments are very manageable, even with my average income.
Driving my Perodua Bezza, I can honestly say it was the right choice. It’s smooth on the highway, easy to park in tight KL spaces, and super fuel-efficient. I’m averaging over 20km/l on most drives, which is a lifesaver with today’s petrol prices. Plus, it’s got all the basic tech I need – Bluetooth, reverse sensors, even some safety features like ABS and EBD.
When you’re buying your first car, especially in Malaysia where traffic and costs can be challenging, it really matters that you find something affordable, practical, and reliable. I truly believe that going with an affordable sedan car in Malaysia like the Perodua Bezza, combined with the flexible financing of Public Bank car loan, is one of the smartest decisions I’ve made recently.
If you’re in the same boat I was – looking to upgrade your daily commute, or finally gain some independence with your own car – I strongly recommend checking out what Public Bank has to offer and visiting your nearest Perodua showroom. Sometimes, the best choices are the ones that are already trusted by so many Malaysians.
